Hi guys after some investigation it appears that my sunroof leak is due to several reasons:

1)Glass put back in incorrectly meaning drainage holes not working effectively and
2)Split in the sunroof seal at the front so water collecting in centre and dripping into car as there is no path for the water to get to the drainage tubes. So I need a new seal. Where is the best place to buy one online for a 1996 mk3 gti please?

cheers

  • Just because I won't - doesn't mean I can't.

Dealer charges 40+ - I know, I checked a week back!

eBay do them for around 30!

My leake was sorted by flushing out the drainage holes and pulling the seal tighter together! Failing that, put some silicon sealant on it mate!

have you thought about vaseline!!  :embarassed:

If rubber dries you can rescue it by using the said stuff.....it softens things up nicely!! making them (rubber etc) more strechy and I have used it to cure noisy door seals etc over the years and have had some good results
