DASH CLOCKS
« on: 11 May 2008, 12:42 »
I HAVE AN ACCRUCY PROBLEM WITH MY MK2 GOLF CLOCKS.THE MILES PER GALLON IS READING 99.9 CONTINUAS,THE TEMP IS OUT,THE DIGITAL READING IS ALSO OUT.
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A WAY TO MAKE THEM MORE ACCURATE.
WOULD IT BE THE SENSORS OR THE CLOCKS THEMSELVES.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED THANKS

I'd say the clocks were kaput. If you know anyone with the same clocks swap them over and see if it cures it that will tell you for defo.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Clean up the earth normally found on top of the head at the back to the right if you're looking into the engine bay. The 99.9 may also be due to a disconnected/split vacuum hose that goes to the clocks.

COuld still be a small leak in the vacuum hose though. I'd rather give it a go than get some new clocks
