Losing Boost

my car is losing boost.  Iv had a remap which should produce 14psi.  In 2nd gear it only peaks at 12psi tho and when the revs get to about 4 1/2 - 5k the boost falls drastically to about 5 or summat.  When in the other gears i do get 14psi.  I obviously havent been able to test whether the boost falls off at the higher revs in the other gears but I'm told that it does as it was on a rollin road tother week. 

When it was on the rollin road, after gettin the remap done the bhp was 169, which is quite a way off what the remap should produce.  Should be lookin at 195ish.

Any ideas as to what could be wrong wi me car?  Iv done a bit of a look around at my hoses etc and i cant see a split.  Iv also took off the DV (forge split-r) and put it back on again, tightened everythin but that didnt do anythin.

faulty maf?? are they not always breaking take it you have a mk4 20v turbo

aye its a mk4 1.8T. faulty MAF would show up on vagcom tho right?

have you checked all the vacume lines/boost hoses to make sure there is no cracks/splits in them??? if they are all fine then i would say that it is definatly electrical, what company did the remap???

I have had a look the pipes and as far as i could see there aint any splits but i dont know my way around an engine very well and also I reckon theres bound to be some that I just cant get to.  I had the remap done at Rtech.  I won the free remap on this forum.  My car had already been remapped and the power run we did before the RTech remap came out at 165bhp which to me suggests that the problem was possibly there all along only I never realised as this was the 1st time its ever been on a rollin road.
what kind of electrical problem could it be?

been onto forge this mornin and they said they would replace my current dv with a new one, just incase this is the problem.  I seriously hope it is.
After takin the dv off I noticed a small amount of an oily substance on the inside of both orifices (both in and out holes) of the dump valve.  Is this normal or does it indicate summat?

Slight residue is normal mate. Did you have chance to drop the bumper yet and check over the intercooler hoses?

I havent matey.  had a busy bank holiday weekend so only managed to have a look around the turbo and the hoses there before it got too dark.
Sent my dv back today so I should have my new one on by thurs.  If that doesnt fix the prob i will stamp my feet a bit and then after a bit of huffing and feelin sorry for myself I will prepare myself for checkin the intercooler hoses.  I like to do the easy things 1st
