gear linkage!?

I got my gearbox box back in today! with GREAT Difficulty i would like to add.  Anyway is there a special way to sort out the gear linkage alighnment?  because at the moment 1st is where reverse is and god only knows where 5th has dissapeard to!

use rubjonnys mk2 guide as they are similar to the mk3 020 box and the linkage is the same to set up http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=33100.0

Cool! cheers,  it looks a bit tricky unless i got that tool,  are those tools available from auto factors or is it a specialst jobby?   Does the gear stick just need to be in dead centre while the box is set to neutral?

some of the mk2 guys sell the tool/spacer thing...or give the bay a try
