That's a shame - dealers sometimes overlook the goodwill they can build up by helping people out on occasions like this.  We regularly do this sort of thing for free.

If it can be read out of the radio itself, it's possible that an independant may be able to do it.  My Bro is a tech for Audi - I'll ask him, as they probably uses the same units.

Cheers, if you could ask would be great.

I think the main problem is that my SEAT dealer is part of a big franchise of firms (Volvo, Vauxhall etc) all owned by one company and the parts/service depts arent actually with the SEAT sales so they probably just dont give a damn. None of the people i've spoken to there sounded too bright. I had to buy a new MAF sensor before Xmas, spoke to someone there was wasnt very helpful and really grumpy over the phone. Phoned Audi to see if any of the TT ones would be the same, they were really helpful and I ended up buying one from stock there. Id far rather deal with them in the future if I can!

ok with ford original stereos and vauxhall if you held the fm am and power buttons it would reset to factory settings and ask you for your own code

with kenwood coded stereos if you get a universal tv remote and press 123 together then let go and press 123 again together this would also do the trick

i havnt read through the whole of the forums but if you let me know ill find out i need the bar code numbers and the make of stereo i have a few mates in the car radio decode buisness and most new coded stereos can be done through the net hope i can help if you havnt bought a stereo yet

also if anyone wants info on car stereo then let me know i have vast knowledge of fitting stereos alarms plus wiring problems in cars just let me know ill get back to you im an auto sparrk and have been for the last 6 years
