at mo mine says around 14 but usually says around 16 mpg and i believe it because i work about 3 miles from home so 6 miles a day x5 days= 30 miles and i put £10 in every week and it uses it but most of my journey home is sat in traffic

Interesting !!!
I am currently doing an analysis on my 8v, comparing unleaded and super unleaded.
I averaged 31 mpg on unleaded whereas the MFA was reading 32, so not too far out. I am now going to do the same analysis using BP super unleaded and see what the difference is (apart from the price).
Will let you know..
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

So so so so so many threads on MPG!

Must be the time of year for it..... Could it be the cold weather means engine takes longer to heat up so is running rich for longer?

Either way it must be said that the MPG display on the dash is the most unreliable reading to go by! It relies on a vacuum line that could be 20 yrs old by now, tiny leak in it and your reading is off.

The only reliable way to gauge your true MPG is take notes of fuel in, miles done and average it over a few tanks.

I take the point but I've worked out the mpg on a tank by tank basis and the MFA is very close to the figure that I came up with, 37 mpg
