Door Pin Replacement
« on: 01 January 2008, 10:12 »
My drivers door on the Jetta drops loads on opening.  Has done since i acquired it, but yesterday i found a new set or genuine vw pins in the back of the glovebox.
I'm gonna have a go at replacing them if its easy enough to do.

Any advie or hints??  Or does it need to go to VW for this??
Thanks

Just make sure none of your hinge bolts are loose, otherwise good luck, you normally need a special tool to ensure a parallel pull as they are worn with a step and this locks up, take the door off from the door pillar and work just the door on a nice supportive area, if you try in situe you might wack the door due having to hit harder due to the suspension taking the blow out of the work!!!
