intermediate shaft timing

im swapping the cambelt and have discovered that there is no mark on the intermediate shaft pulley! is there another way of timing it? i knew i should have used tippex :laugh:

i think there's one on the reverse of that pulley aswell mate.

if its a 8v there should be a mark on your dizzy where rotor arm lines up to
also if you look in maintenance section there is a item for tuning digifant and this tells you how to set up correctly hope this helps

mine had two marks!!!! one was a dot on a tooth and the other was a groove cut inbetween 2 teeth.

ignore the intermediate shaft marks, line up the rotor arm to the mark on the dizzy :)

The reason the intermediate shaft & cam pullies have 2 marks is because they are actually the same part, on 1 side is the mark for the intermediate shaft, the other side has the cam mark :)

with a 16v it matters even less since the only thing driven off the intermediate shaft is the oil pump, the dizzy runs off the cam :)

yeah was gonna say the intermediate shaft doesnt affect the dizzy. nice one john.
