Its a shame that there's no kickdown when in fully manual mode (or so it seems).

There certainly IS a kickdown in full manual mode! 

Are you sure you are pressing the loud pedal hard enough - there is an extra bit of resistance, as you overcome the floor mounted kickdown switch. 

Ah yes!  Seems like my right foot wasn't heavy enough!  Shows my lack of experience in automatic cars eh.  Cheers for that TT - its made my day 

My SWMBO also needed "educating" on this very issue - she blamed the high heels - is that your excuse too, Stiggy?? 

And please get rid of that thing on your sig - might throw up all over the keyboard/computer so i'll never be able to get on to this wonderful forum!

Some knife throwers have already forced the hand (keyboard) of an Admin on that issue!
