I've seen mk2's at all kinds of prices, I've even had some twit tell me the car's worth 7 or 8 grand, I told him he could have it for 6 and make 2k in profit
If it's really pristine €4k doesn't seem to be that bad. Personally I'd be tempted to import one if you're spending anything like that money - there's heaps of them in England and VRT for a 15 year old car isn't much.
