Just typed this into google and it has a thread on some connector under the car which you can disconnect and it hold a valve open which increases power (i think)  Have a look

What does this mean???

yes.  I did mine on delivery day in August (got a 5 dr dsg solid black). 

Just reach up behind the valance between the two exhaust pipes and you will find the valve and rubber hose.  I just pulled it, and tucked it out of the way.  Best done when the exhaust is cold! 

Micalee, did you save hugely on cross channel delivery?

you manualy make the valve open, either by using zipties to crimp the hose or pluging the hose.

the story goes that you'll gain a few hp 
but the real reason most do it is for the sound!

It sounds amazing through the first few gears, it is a nice deep growling sound,
its a nice mod to do if you havent yet

Sorry to be dumb with this, but any pics on what the valve looks like? Is it like a connector which unplugs?

From googling this term - flapper - I think that this feature was only available on the US Mk4 R32 due to sound regulations - think it quietens the exhaust.
