I have the standard RCD500 radio with the 10 speaker system, but must say that the quality is not that impressive! Is there an upgrade available or replacement speakers? Anyone else have an opinion on the r32 MK5 speakers

Hey there

Firstly nice car.

Ok, I got a Golf GTI 06 with similar problems.

1. Is there an upgrade available or replacement speakers?

Yes there is. Its called the soundblaster pack and is an extra. What differance it makes I have no idea cos I never heard the standard system (I got a soundblaster)

2. Secondly, i find that when i use the CD player the sound quility rocks. Good bass and clarity.
However running it through the Ipod Adapter is . Radio is brilliant.

So the question is what are you complaining about? The ipod sound playback or the CD playback??

Hope to hear from you
Mike

i dont have the ipod. My complaint (if any, just being picky) is the general sound, either on radio or cd. Imagine a graphic equaliser with standard 5 bands say. Usually, the average set up would look like a "v" formation, i.e, base up high on left, treble up high on right and the others sitting lower. Well, mine sounds like the middle band is at its highest, slightly harsh sounding as apposed to being a softer sound.

Hope this helps??

This may sound like an obvious question, but have you tried playing with the eq settings on your head unit?
