Cigarrete lighter is a permanent feed on the mk2 so don't  use that! might be the cig lighter light you conneceted to.

sorry then, I stand corrected, never owned a mk2 want one though, had a beasty mk 2 or maybe even mk1 polo, it was proper nice! old B reg anyway. unusual about the perm cig live, most cars arnt?

Most newer cars, yeah - older ones tend to have permanent cig lighters. I'd sooner have that anyway, to be honest.
