Steering lock
« on: 04 August 2006, 20:35 »
Hi all, Quick Q....

Is it possible to fix the steering lock?  It's always been broke on my cab and seeing as i'm on a mission to put everything right on her was wondering if this can be done?

Thanks :)

yeah, you need a new ignition switch/lock housing!
You'll also have to drill a small hole in your old one so you can remove the old ignition lock, the haynes has a diagram which shows you exactly where.  Basically the lock has a snall tab you have to press with a screwdriver to release it!

Thanks for the info.  Priced the part up, £23 from local VW dealer.  Gonna give it a whirl next weekend :)
