i think a g60 would be underpowered in such a heavy car although i have allways wanted one of these in a mk2.

Was perfectly fine in my corrado cant see the mk3 being any different.

200bhp is more than you would get from a 2l 16v on twin carbs, which is easily achieved on a g60 engine with few mods.

what sort of mods would achieve 200bhp from a g60 and do the engines differ from a corrado g60 and a golf g60?

1k would get you a full g60 lump charger and loom intercooler and g/box, there is a slight diference between the corrado a golf engines in the charger but pretty much the same.

To get 200bhp its just a chip smaller pulley and a s4 charger rebuild but bearing in mind most of this work will of already been done.

Or just keep your eyes open for a accident damaged rado g60 seen them go for 1200-1500 take what you want flog rest of bits, that way you have everythin for a full conversion.

Keep an eye on www.the-corrado.net

Hope that helps

you'll want a golf g60 intercooler too as the corrado one is tiny weeny lol.

a toothed belt kit is worthwhile too. they're about £200.

cheers guys my paty is due at the end of the month so im watching a few items on ebay etc so if the price is right i will get either a g60 or a 1.8 20vt depending on what price the 20vt goes for im more in favour of this conversion a it can push more BHP but it does get a tad exspensive. cheers for all your info.

if you're getting a 20vT make sure you get the right engine for the power you want. don't get a 150 lump if you want 300bhp else you'll end up changing everything on it. they're only good for 200bhp in standard form. 180's are good for 215bhp and 225's are good for 280bhp reliabley.

if you're going for mega power and will be changing the pistons and turbo then the AGU is the best due to larger valves which give an advantage over 300bhp.

thanks for that the cupra i had was the 150bhp and i had it revo'd and i was well impressed with performace so i would hate to see the performance from the leon cupra with revo

i saw a golf at gti inters with a 225 s3 lump with a leon cupra 6 speed box i bet that goes well.  but ideally i wouldnt mind the 150bhp engine and then change the turbo to a k03s, revo it with a forge front intercooler that would be around 215bhp.

the engine im looking at is an agu but is that the 180 or the 150?
