i thought i would post in here because i have a 1.6 driver and ive put a 1.8 GTi cam and a weber carb init the weber also has a K&N bolt on filter and to be honest ive had no carb iceing or any probs.

Dude i suggest you do the same if you want more power because it does make a BIG difference, you gotta get the carb set up properly though or it causes sh*t loads of probs. i picked my weber up brand new from GSF for £210 i dont think i would trust buying a second hand one. when i got my car i had the pierburg and that was shocking it used to rev to 4k when it was cold because of the auto choke and by the time it had warmed up you would of ran out of petrol.

do these small mods mate and you wont regret it. :cool:

how do you fit  mk2 gti cam to the driver after reading this i may opt for that to ? and how much big job ??? lol

its a strait swap, youll need to set the timing up different tho i think
