Hi,
I need to take rocker cover off to check my cam. I just need to know what is involved, do I have to do any prep before taking the thing off?
cheers!

YEH PRETTY straight 4ward. just clear the hoses n pipes that run over the rocker cover. you dnt have to but will make life easier in step two.
step two unbolt the rocker cover and remove.
pretty straight 4ward as i said. why do you need to check the cam anyway? its going to pointless opening it up like that to check the cam. You wont really know what your looking for?

I need to look to see whether the cam is modified. Im having problems with pinking which obviously is related to timing.... Just a vw racer thinks it has.. I need to take it off to fit a new gasket anyway.
Also need to find out what the oem oart number is for a standard cam as I believe it is printed somewhere on it.
..... only going to take it off when the new gasket comes from ebay.
Thanks for help so far matey!
