I agree with mk2madman, stick a 2 litre mk3 in there! I had a mk2 with a mk3 engine (till someone drove into it) was stupidly fast! 0 -60 in about 6.5 seconds, the guy i got to fit it reckoned putting a VR6 in wouldn't really be any quicker, cos it's so much heavier. Plus if you've got a 16v mk2, the mk3 engine'll go straight in, only sits 1mm higher and runs on same injection system, so just upgrade the brakes, lower the car a little bit and the job's a good 'un!
