ok been browsing car audio sites and looking at amps, whats the best amp I can get for £150

I was told to get a 4 channel amp incase I want a sub later on, I just want to amp the 2 front speakers.

Now knowing very litle about amps if later on I want to buy speakers for the rear doors can I use the 2 remaining channels for that ... is that how it works ?

Not really understanding what channels are to be honest  :undecided:

In my humble opinion JBL make poo amps. This is purely my opinion and should not be taken any other way!

Also if you're lucky you could pick up a Genesis ST100 for £150 or there abouts. Depending on what the ratting of your speakers is you might get away with running them off the ST100 little brother, the ST60. Seriously good kit!

There is usually a steady trickle of these amps popping up on ebay and talk audio has a busy classifieds section.

these are the speakers I'll be getting http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4122

and this is the amp I've got my eye on http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=4113 I think it has what I need.

when it comes to this I'm a bit thick so you'll have to excuse me.

its a 4 channel amp, could you please explain what channels are please  :embarassed:

At the moment I want to just have 2 good speakers in front and amp them. But if I want to get better speakers in the rear doors can this amp take another 2 speakers and also a sub or is it one or another e.g. it can take a sub or 2 more speakers or if I wanted 4 speakers rear and front and a sub would I need a amp wih more channels ?

thanks for any advice here ... getting ymself a bit muddled up

channels - speaker outputs is probably the easiest way of explaining it.

Whilst you can run a sub from one channel you're probably better off bridging it over two, so it gets the power from two "speaker outputs".

If you wanted 4 speakers and a sub you can get special 5 channel amps, or you could use two amps, a 4 channel and a 2 channel. Or 3 2 channel amps
