For the 1.1, the easiest route would probably be a G40. If you're looking for a 1.8 lump, the O/S engine mount off the 1.8 car would need to be removed and rewelded into the 1.1 as they're different. Then you'd have to scrounge all the fuel system off a GTI too.

For the 1.5, the engine mount is the same as the 1.8 but you'll also need to change the fuel system.

If you're going to go through the hassle of changing the engine, you're better off doing a 16v conversion. It's the same amount of hassle as putting in a different engine with only 1 minor wiring loom to sort out.

A 2.0 16v with 1.8(KR) cams is 150bhp straight out of the box.

hi, why are the 1.8 cams better than the standard ones?  :undecided:i am guessing the kr cams are from the 1.8 16v? rob

The KR cam has a bigger inlet lobe on the cam which means the inlet valve stays open longer than a normal cam

More fuel, air = power
