Help needed! Pioneer HU
« on: 22 January 2006, 13:27 »
I have just connected my IPod to my HU using the Pioneer IB-100 interface & am now having problems.

I had to connect the IB100 into a wire which is permanently live so I connected into the one that goes into the back of my HU, but now every time I turn on the HU it has lost its radio presets - its as if when the car is turned off power is no longer getting through to keep them in the memory - any ideas?!

Also, the HU used to go on and off with the ignition but I now have to use the power button each time, and it wont come on unless the key is in the ignition for some strange reason! Any ideas?

The head unit is an old Pioneer KEH P4300R...and I cant seem to get instructiond for it anywhere!

Any help would be appreciated.

I always wire the switched and permanent live from the H/U to the permanent live on the car as I get annoyed with the H/U turning off with the ignition. It turns off when I take the face off anyway so it doesn't really make much difference if it stays on when the ignition is switched off!!

Is there a trick to getting the spades out of the connector blocks without bending em?

the headunit should have connectors half way between the red and yellow wires. They should pull out from there.

Dont pull the connectors from the black connector block. you'll break it. :embarassed:

get us a pic you lasy ass you

haha! Will get a pic if I cant sort it in a min!

Only the yellow has a connector where it joins the fuse so I'm going to cut the red and put spades on it and swap em over...well thats the plan anyway!
