the vw badge is recessed into the boot
i think you misunderstood me mate, i meant the gti badge underneath the rear right light cluster. My mate has got a mk2 (shame ! ha ha) and that had a couple of holes under the badge which led to filler and paint.

i knew what you meant, i was just clearing up what dom said.

heres a picture of my arse

The front looks good debadged - I've got a mesh grille so there's no fixing for the front stuff anyway!

I do still like the rear badge tho - coz its a 16v - lets people know what they up against!

I have to say that de-badging a car makes it look crap!!!
Be proud of the badge and the heritage it has.

Sorry for any offence. I have to say though that I really don't think that most de-badged cars improve the looks !
Some are tasteful. Others look a bit chavvy.

I have to say, I kinda agree most of the time. If you do it all over, and make the car a sleeper, it can look cool. But just taking the badge off the back doesn't make much difference imho...

Hell that's why everyone's different!!

I have to say, i dont understand this debadging thing   Why would ypu want to do it? To me it just makes the car look like a 1.4,  GTI look alike!!!  But thats just my opinion you understand.
