mines a 90 spec driver the immobiliser is a square box at the front by the drivers side wing, i can turn it on with a key and then my car wont start, brillient, but how the hell do i operate it properly without poppig the bonnet to turn it on and off??? i have a little red flashing light thing on my dash and also a little pad with a button that lights another up when i press it so im assuming that its that that i use but how and when and where?? it all seems to work but not together as they should, im dead confused? anyone got the same set up know how it works???

odd, i was out fiddling with it in the hope it would start working and it did actually work .... once, the little red light lit up nice and bright and when i pressed the little button on my keyring the car made an odd noise then my lights flashed then my alarm made a noise then i could start my engine, then when i turned it off again it stopped working again, im not sure what to check , the little red light does light up but very faintly and nothing happens when i press my keyring now..
now im REALLY confused

Try replacing the battery in the keyring

just got a new battery, no change, still doesnt work, i think that the light on the dash isnt geting the power it needs, why might that be? it worked for a few seconds last night , i dont get why it would do that........

hmm, could be a loose earth somewhere? Take the dash undertray off and have a look at the wiring under there, might be worth taking out the dash clock surround too

took off the undertray and followed to two wires coming off the light, the brown one eventually links up to an odd black box sitting behing my dash on a ledge, and the grey one goes to a red plastic thing and off that comes a purple cable that goes to another red plastic thing and then another purple cable disapears off further than i can see
