Can anyone recommend a standard clutch, does the Golf R clutch fit?
It will fit but is almost just as weak as the GTi one so will slip if mapped. It has slightly higher torque limits but not by much. Go aftermarket

How long does a standard clutch last though on a mapped engine? as ours only covered 25k and its just the slave leaking

How long is a piece of string ? Not a question with a definite answer. Once my car went stage 1 if would slip in 6th gear when on motorway if you have it full acceleration and was just generally useless at its job. If your slave cylinder is just leaking then just fix that and stay with your original clutch. But then what was your original question again ???

Yeah, know what you mean, just worried about replacing a perfectly good clutch for the sake of it, we aren't experiencing any slip at all.

I guess will know more when they remove the gearbox and see if any fluid has dripped onto the clutch, if so, it will have to be changed anyway.... :nerd:
