Map update

After a lot of pressure from my nephew, he now has my 2015 R and I am the new owner of a 2019 Golf R and am very happy with it but I wish to update the navigation maps.  I have followed all the links on your website and have downloaded DiscoverCare 1.0.4 app for my iMac, I have a Discover Media MIB 2 system, but when I insert the SD card and try to start the download it comes up with an error message “An error occurred. Please check your network settings”  I have checked my internet and all is connected and the SD card is unlocked.  As an alternative I downloaded the DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1730_V14.7z file but when I try to unzip this file I get the error message “Unable to expand DiscoverMedia2_EU1_1730_V14.7z into Downloads (Error - 1 - No such process).

Can you please tell me how I can overcome these issues and allow me to update my maps.

DiscoverCare app doesn't come recommended by many on this forum. Also, you will need an app to unzip the files. To note too is that the full Europe/UK maps are now too big to fit on the original SD card so you'll either have to download a smaller set of maps or buy a new bigger VW SD card.

You need to use 7zip to unzip the file and as Watts has said bundle 1 is now too big for the 16gb factory supplied card. If you still get stuck, send me your card and I'll put the new maps on for you 👍
