Unless you come to a complete stop, mine doesn’t normally go into 1st. Noticed that particularly today using the ACC on the M25 in road works traffic. Even creeping along at 1-2mph it was staying in 2nd.

On the M25 Jim? Are you planning a surprise visit to give my car a run over with your DA??

Funnily enough, I ran a W205 C200 petrol for 2 years (with the older 7-speed auto) and it was very reluctant to go into 1st, even using the paddles but I think the gearbox was certainly more of an auto cruiser and different to the DSG in the GTI.
