Cades Artemis Wheels
« on: 08 January 2020, 17:34 »
Hi,

New to Golfness and the forum, so please be gentle :)

I did a search but couldn't find any reference to these wheels on the forum.  So here are my questions please:

- Anybody got any pictures of a Mk7 or 7.5 fitted with these wheels?
- Anybody got any experience of them in terms of finish quality, robustness, longevity etc.?
- I have 18" Parkers at the moment and just want to swap over the standard GTI Performance tyres (225/40 R18 92Y) - will they be OK on an 18" x 8" rim (online tyre sites seem to suggest they will be fine)?
- The Artemis spec is 18" x 8" ET45 5x112mm - will these fit and fully clear all the arches, steering, suspension etc. on an otherwise fully standard GTI Performance?

Here's the wheel:

Thanks in advance

I can’t recall seeing pics or those wheels on a Golf but they might be marketed under different names in different markets. Have a look on forums such as golfmk7.com where they have dedicated alloy wheel threads. I’ve not been on that forum for quite a few years so have lost track of what’s what.
A good few R owners were running Cades Bern alloys over on VWROC.com a while ago, mostly in 19” fitment though.

To answer your other questions, yes, they’ll fit fine in those dimensions and the original 225/40/18 tyres can still be utilised. :afro:

Hi - I don’t have those wheels, but my specification is exactly the same and you won’t have any issues. I ordered from Rimstyle as well, they were great and they include the spigot rings that you’ll need to adjust the hub size - just make sure you include the exact spec of your Gti on their website when you order. If you have any questions, just give them a ring ( I spoke with Gary who knows his stuff). Last, you’ll need to check with your Insurer - as it’s a vehicle modification. Mine (Axa) didn’t increase the premium, but charged me £30 to adjust the policy. Good luck

Really nice looking wheels..... and I'm sure it will sit better than the Nissan Mirca I saw at the petrol station yesterday, old piece of s**t on standard suspension with what looked to be 20" wheels on it, it looked like a crap attempt at a monster truck and I almost curbed my alloys laughing so much!!
