Only if you don't feed the power in progressively from a standing start leading to increased wheel spin or you start hooning around corners more. You don't really strike me as quite that gung ho all the time.
I find the extra torque is of benefit most at lower to medium revs in the upper three or four gears where the car can just surge forward with a gentle prod if need be, but generally you just use it to waft around on like driving a big lazy V8.
I've actually found remapped cars to be better on fuel on longer journeys as gear changing necessity is vastly reduced when cruising.
