Just noticed a chap on another forum is suggesting VW are paying 'a thousand pounds over book' on VW trade-ins in addition to the discount. Its news to me so have asked for elaboration on that.
If you can get a grand more at both ends of the deal and still get big discount (doubt you will get as much in the middle - the dealership will be stumping up the £1000 p/x by way of less margin when they sell it), could be worth plenty of MK7ers chopping in their 1 year old GTD/GTI/R.
Almost tempted myself, if i'd had my R a year rather than a smidge under 6 months.
Just goes to show what headless chickens the general British public are - VW are tainted by the scandal, but the rest of the VAG stable aren't, even though those affected all use the same EU5 TDI engines.
