There is a fan control module under the battery tray.

This is probably your issue. You need to find one that matches part numbers as the pins are different on different models. I'm just about to break up a 2001 1.8T with manual air con.

Have you changed the thermostat.
yes new genuine 1 fitted  :smiley:

tried this with swapping the part from my other 1.8t still no luck  :smiley:

That's incredibly odd. Have you checked power and earth at each stage?

At which stage is the power not getting through?

Bridge temp switch and then check there has got to be a break in the circuit somewhere.
