Momo Steering wheel installation..

Hi guy's, i got my hands on a barely used Momo S'wheel. But before i install it in my 97' golf gti. I'm worried about setting off the dreaded airbag warning light! I'm aware i need to disconnect the battery first. How does the momo wheel fool the airbag ecu into thinking it's still connnected?

You put a really really small resistor in the 2 holes on the end of the air bag wire and it closes the circuit and then the air bag light will needed to be turned off with vag com. Do a search there are a few threads confirming which resistor works.

Something I that got me scratching my head when I did mine was the horn wiring.
The instructions dont say, but you will need to remove the slip ring off your existing air bag wheel.
I just picked the correct resistor up from Maplin, shoved into the connector with some insulation tape holding it in place.

That also made me wonder, the horn wiring? What ohm resistor did you go for mate? Plus i'd solder mine to be safe

Sorry fella, not been on for a while
Iirc I used a 4.7 ohm one from Marlin.
Really no need to solder, the prongs hold in the yellow connector pretty well & the tape keeps it from shaking out + you can always go back to original easily
