Have you upgraded your headunit to an rcd/rns500?

No i have not changed anything on it, I still got the default mk5 golf head unit.

I am just wondering how would you know if the alternator went, that could be a possibility. As the car batterry does fill up takes a while. Then you can drive the car, but if you turn it of and leave it for 2 minutes then the battery is dead again.

Wouldnt think its a bad battery but may have to test that too.

your battery should be holding around 12.6v more or less. bring the revs up to 2000rpm ish and hold for a couple of mins .you should know be seeing your battery voltage rising upto 14 volts ish .this means your altenator is working and chargin your battery.

going back to the no keyhole to get in manually, is there not a little bit on one of the door handles where u can pop the key into (usually on the underside) and pop off a plastic cap which exposes the manual keyhole? sorry im late with this. mine has an exposed keyhole so i cant see.
