1.8T black smoke
« on: 15 July 2014, 19:45 »
Setup - 1.8T AUQ running 550cc injectors and a Walbro fuel pump.... The revo map has reset back to default settings I.e. 1 out of 9....

Could this cause the rail to be highly pressurised and without the settings showing the correct fuelling ie 7 or 8 letting the ECU know that there's big injectors and causing over fuelling as the ECU will think there's small standard injectors on?

A fair bit of black smoke sometimes goes away completely and same with intermittent rough idle.

No codes showing on vag-com, brand new MAF and Lambdas not old atall maybe 3 months. Brand new turbo so not seals hopefully... Rare one.

I have done a lot of research on this already this week but can't find simple answer and the only person who can put settings up to where they should be is on holiday...

Also I have a brand new N75J valve but it doesn't look the same as the standard valve any decent diagrams on how to install it correctly?

I will update if I sort this as all other threads seem to leave it at a dead end.

Idle and just as I take off.. Goes away when driving unless I'm sat cruising, then when I go again a small puff.

Also it comes and goes on idle sometimes it's not there and only once fully heated up.

Black smoking is excess fuel being burnt off

Wayne that would mean my first post was correct and the amount of smoke relates to the massive difference in what the ECU thinks is happening.

It will think there's stock injectors and be running them flat out, but intact there very big and flooding the engine.

you're on the right track, think when you're on idle it will be on closed loop...running in lambda mode from the upstream sensor feeding back to the ecu. When you then take off, accelerate it's getting a glug of fuel from the large injectors and over fuelling for that moment and ecu playing catch up...black smoke(excess fuel). When you settle the throttle on cruise closed loop again until you hit the pedal again..black smoke. Maybe i'm on the wrong track
Audi S1 gone, awaiting 1.5tsi r-line, pan roof, led lights front and rear, active dash, 18" jurva alloys and a dealer fitted Oettinger roof spoiler in tornado red.

Yep that is what I think is happening.
