Anyone recognise this connector?
« on: 02 September 2005, 12:17 »
Hi all. I've got a connector in the parcel shelf bit of the dash (Mk3) and I don't know what it is... I thought it may have been a Clifford thing but I've done some digging and they look a lot smaller than this one. It's about an inch wide.

Yes its the manual overide for the factory fitted conlog alarm. If you now have a clifford installed then its probably not needed anymore.

The old fob looks like this. Notice the pins on the rear. This is the bit that you push in to turn the alarm off if the batteries in the fob die. Dunno why its been replaced as there very good alarms. Mine is anyway. Has anti hijack, panic, auto door closure the lot. Works a mile off and is loud as fcuk!

Good alarms IMO easy to fit,  genuine connectors so potential Robin barsts can't easily work out which wiring is genuine factory and which is Conlog unlike some of the other after market alarms .
Mind you looks like they didn't even put it in straight  ( I know some of us that work/worked a VW dealerships do/did have pride in our work and fitted them properly  )

Actually, after reading the last one it could have it's advantages if the socket stayed. Feefs might think there's a Conlog and a Clifford!

There you go ,  Keep the thevin little barsts guessing . If they have any doubt, they're more likely to leave it well alone
