« on: 16 November 2013, 17:23 »
Hi everyone
Iv just had a  mk4 golf 1.8 turbo
And my car has started to overheat on the temp gauge on the clocks
Only started today as had car 4 few days now
Out the blue car temp gauge went shooting up to 130 parked up
And coolant bottle goes full
Left bonnet open and temp goes to 90 and heaters work perfect
But the fan doesn't come on
Can someone help me to solve this problem
And also what is the best dumpvalve 4 the car
Also had stage1 remap at r tech : )

And mine, I wouldn't drive it until it's sorted.

I would change the thermostat first. If that does not work its the water pump. Fans come on when hot water gets into the rad.

while doing the thermostat you can feel inside to see if the impellor is still there...

The black bit in this pic

It's what circulates the water around your engine. Usually they break apart or come away from the shaft meaning they will only sometimes turn.
