Hi,
I have a 200 GTI Golf and ever since I bought her a couple of weeks ago the only station it picks up is radio 2 and even that is intermittedly.
The radio works 100% just not reception
Any ideas of what I can do or quick fixes?

Pull the unit out and look at the aerial connector.

Dragonfly in relation to removing the radio on the MK4 does the radio simply come out? I tried to take it out the other day but it wouldnt budge-Do you have to remove all the whole outer casing?

You will need a set of keys to slip into the slots at the side. eBay is a good bet for these as you can get a complete kit for not a lot of money.

Managed to get the radio out and the aerial reception was slightly off. Put it back on and I actually have some more radio stations but still not too many on FM. I have no reception on medium wave which is annoying as I like 909.
However for those struggling to take the rario out-insert the radio keys into the little holes beside both < > radio keys until engaged and the radio will pop out.
For those without the suitable radio keys I just cut and old credit card into the relevant shapes and it worked a treat
