Mine were gti bushes. Jacked car up wheels were off due to work wewere doing. Moved beam up and down and there was the noise loud too

Changed top mounts which cured the knock, was then left with the horrible creaking/rattle. With the help of Matt at OCD we eventually diagnosed it as the rear seat hinge, the drivers side hinge was covered in rust!

Cleaned it up and gave it a coat of copper grease, no more noise  :cool:
