No dealer is going to give you more than 85% of the sticker price they would apply to it, unless they know for sure they have a buyer lined up that wants your car,
I am comparing what I would look to get in a private sale to a dealer purchase offer (what the dealer sells it for does not really concern me). I have found its pretty much the same as a realistic private sale price and has no finance settlement hassle attached to it.
Maybe I have been lucky in offering them nice spec cars in the right colour etc (the VW stock ones tend to not have any more than one option on them)....
My last Scirocco was offered to three dealers - one was not interested (I presume they a;ready had plenty in stock), one gave me an OK offer which i was about to take until the third popped up with a great offer (the last dealer was the one who had carried out he service on the car but not supplied it). I did not even offer it to the dealer that sold it to me in the first place!
