JVC Double Din Fitted
« on: 29 June 2013, 15:02 »
I have just replaced the standard Gamma stereo and CD player with a JVC double din.

After working out the live and ignition live were the wrong way round and the ignition live does not work, so had to use the electric aerial wire as the ignition live because the JVC needs both live and ignition live to work, I finally got it powered up.

My problem now is securing the JVC into the car. The carriage that came with the stereo fits in nicely, but I can see how to secure to both stereo and car, so it can't be stolen easily.

How do I over come this ?

Have to bent the tabs on the cage when it's fitted to the dash?

Thanks dragonfly.

The trouble is, with the cage screwed to the stereo, you can't get to the tabs once it is slotted into the dash.

I'll search around to see if there is some sort of fitting kits available.

The other way involves removing the dash surround and with the unit it place either screwing it in or bending the tabs.
