I ordered from Demon Tweaks rather than Wheelbase for a couple of reasons; Tweaks knew what they were talking about and did a better deal on a wheel tyre package (even compared to Camskill).

In reality these light and forged and were around the same price I was going to pay for the VW Motorsport wheels, however, 7.5j meant possible clearance issues

These aren't stock UK items so coming from Europe but TSW were helpful in saying Europe had stock and advising of dealers

Decided at a couple of days notice to take a Road Trip to Germany with just the car, the tom tom and me, plan was:

- Harwich to Hook of Holland on Ferry
- Holland to Wolfsburg
- Visit Autostadt and VW Museum
- Wolsburg to Nurburgring
- Nurburgring to Calais via spa

Plan for the car was always to be set up for fast road use and capable of some track day action and car was faultless, coped with jams in Belgium, 150+ on the autobahn and the ring, a few pics of the car on its travels

Outside Autostadt

Wolfsburg Factory in the distance

Nurburgring

Nurburgring Hotel Car Park

Rent Race Car Ed35

Down the road from Spa

yes hotel was the Dorint

the whole area is fabulous round there, the racetrack complex feels a bit clinical compared to the rest of the area

making your ring debut mid sunday afternoon with no sighting laps was interesting but not but me off

I liked Autostadt, quite relaxed and appealed to me from a building and car perspective, the real gem is the VW Museum which has some cracking older stuff

it was also good reconnaissance for the wife's mk7 purchase on the colour front

best bit of the trip was the 300 miles from Wolfsburg to the Ring where i think i just about manage to average 20mpg

i think i encountered one pot hole in Germany during my time there
