I brought the car knowing the head gasket had gone. There's oil in the water is this more then the gasket and the actual head it's self ??

Are there any quick fixes??? I've looked at replacement engines. Mines got the ko4 turbo and a remapped ecu. Would these jst b able to b moved over to the engine with ease.

Also mines an agu would the other engines work with my wiring loom???

When I picked the car up there was a patch of oil on the floor beneath the car. Does this help your diagnosis

I just moved the car to get into garage. After revearseing back there was dropping water with lots of oil in it. But it was mainly water.

if oil cooler fails,  engine oil system is at higher pressure than the coolant system so oil will be pumped into the coolant system.

this can cause the coolant system to overflow so it may leack oil and water from the top tank.   usual sings are engine oil dropping and oil in coolant.

it's not allways the case but a lot of people see oil in water and shout head gasket even garages.   i've bought loads of 20Vt cars for peanuts as owner belives the head gasket has failed or they've had teh head gasket done and it's still doing it so presume dead motor.

£15 second hand oil cooler ,   empty to cooling system fill it up with plain water and some washing powder ir a couple of dishwasher tablets and take it for good drive.   supriseing how meany of them it cures,     then dump the "coolant"  run it for a day or two on water then drain and fill with g12
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

if you've got a few tools you'd be abel to DIY it quite easy.

diconnect water pipes from oil cooler,   remove oil filter, remove nut oil cooler falls off.

not 100% garanteed it's that but unless it's had a new one allready it's due to fail at some point soon ish,

if you wish to test it,  disconnect the water pipes going to the oil cooler  and link them together,  then run the engine,  or even take it for a short drive,    if the oil cooler is at fault you'll see oil comeing out the water side of it
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
