4motion brakes 312mm
« on: 23 January 2013, 23:50 »
Hi all does the v6 4motion have 312mm brakes as standard mine are a bit lacking in bite unless you jump on them hard. Would it be worth paying out for  set of cupra brakes or r32 or just getting the old ones overhauled any ideas cheers.

Just getting decent pads, braided lines and decent brake fluid can make a lot of difference.

The only main issue with fitting an R32 setup is the price of genuine 334mm front discs, its best part of £200 per disc for oem. I've tried cheap Ebay discs before and they just aren't up to the job, under hard breaking they seem to generate so much heat that they warp slightly and you get that 'wobble'.

I've seen complete 2nd hand mk4 R32 front setups for £300 on Ebay. Deffo worth it if you don't mind spending the money, they are powerful stoppers

Not in any way standard :) Dyno Dynamics RR - 280bhp

Yea I've been looking for some second hand r32 or leon cupra r sets I will keep looking the car is going to have the brakes bleed next week and then on to the rollers in the mot bay to test them. Cheers guys.
