Screechy belt?
« on: 21 January 2013, 18:54 »
One of the belts in my car's engine makes a loud screeching noise sometimes when starting the car. I believe its the one kind of next to the air intake box. Is that the one charging the battery? Any tips or howtos for tightening it?

cheers

just get it changed..... both together cost <20£......
if you get a haynes then you're at 30£.... and you need an adjustable spanner for 5£

tightening will help only for about 2 days and you'd still need the spanner.

Were both changed,  if so check the tension.  Theres a toothed bolt to do this under the power steering pump.
