Temperature gauge very low, car slow to heat up

Hi guys.

The (coolant?) temperature gauge on my dashboard is usually always low or "zero". It takes quite long even to reach 70-80 degrees. Also the vents take quite some time to put out hot air... There's enough coolant so what could it be? Dysfunctional thermostat?? Anything else?

The thermostat is probably stuck open, get a new one fitted

Either the thermostat is stuck open, or someone never put one in..

Im having the same problem it . It takes ages to get to 70 and pretty sure its the thermostat. The top hose to the rad gets hot but the bottom stays cold . The water pump works coz when i open the cap to the coolant tank and rev the engine the water gets pulled down the tank. Ive also changed the temp switch.

Does it get to 90 in slow traffic or standing still? How cold is it where you live?
Should go to 90 after approx 10-15 miles /20-25 km the latest in my experience, and i am talking at -20 in a nordic country

otherwise replace thermostat.
