The pipe your explaining about does it look damaged or preventing the pipe to allow air through it?

If it is then that isnt good as your DV wont be operating properly.
Best bet it replace this pipe anyhow using the ebay 3/4mm silicone piping. Its about £5 delivered.

Yeah it's fine to drive in limp mode it's not gonna hurt it just don't boot it, I'm guessing n75 valve or airflow meter or a boost leak. Oh wait that's what goes wrong with a 1.8t every few days lol

If any of the hoses going to the DV are split/bent it can cause it as the boost/air cannot run correctly.

all coils/spark plugs, fuel lines etc etc been checked? could be a misfire? get yourself a code reader as well or find a vag specialist and ask him to clear the codes and when you order your reader you can then put the fresh codes up for us

Checked all the hoses, spark plugs, etc. was running fine this morning but engine light was on still. It isn't miss fireing and no lack of power. Just wasn't boosting properly yesterday. Seems ok now just the light is on.

Could be anything mate. Best to get it scanned again.
My quess it will be a sensor pooped itself, something like MAF, MAP or camshaft sensor.

Let us know what it comes up with a scan.

sounds like an engine splutter then, i had one a couple of months back when i had my recall, took it to my mech and ran a diagnostics, old codes were wiped, ran it for 15miles and went back, engine light was on but no issues whilst running, did a full check and was literally down to a hiccup in the engine, never happened since, just the spluttering dying thing i have on cold mornings now
