9J with a 52 offset youl be luckie I expect inner arch mounting screw scrape if not more. 8.5 is about max.
215 will look very stretched, very scene but  :lipsrsealed:

It will be VERY tight...I run 8.5" x 19 ET52 and it's close on both the outside and inside of the front with a 225 tyre.
With a 235 wide tyre, they have been known to rub the arch liner on the inside...so a 12mm wider wheel is likely to have the same effect.

Consider whether there are insurance implications to fitting narrower tyres than OEM.

Also, the rim protector is of no practical use on a 225 tyre, on a 8.5" wheel...the same tyre on a 9" wide wheel would look too stretched in my view, too scene, and utterly shyte.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
