OIL PRESS STOP ENGINE!

What to check? Oil level to start with? Is it the low oil warning or oil pressure warning?

If low oil light (yellow/amber):
could be that you ripped the sensor / cable off..

If pressure light (red):
Next, take the undertray off (if not ripped off) and see if there's a leak or see if the oil pan is scraped or bent. If it is and you don't have leaks it could well be oil pump pickup or if you done well the lot but that you hear very much.

Hope for you that it's only low oil or pan... At least that you can fix during a weekend and an old oil pan from scrappy.

My money is on the actual sensor though if you arent leaking oil

had a check, oil on bare minimum, and sump looks like its leaked oil

should i replace the oil pickup while im at it? cant find a sump pan online anywhere!

I have the same engine and the same problem!! although i haddent hit anything the oilnpressure light came on and the car is sounding very much like a tractor, i am hopfully sorting the probnlem this weekend by fitting a new oil pump, full service ill let you know how i get on.

thatll be your oil pick up pipe mate, don't drive it! until you replace it

oh dont worrie i wont be driving it as the bloody thing cut out and refuses to start!!, theres a few problems, iv have to replace the injector loom, coilpack loom, full service, crank position sensor oil pump all i hope its its not the big end etc...

If you hit the floor at the back of the sump then you could have mashed the oil sensor on the underside of the sump

where can i buy the wire which attaches to this sensor?? and whats it called?

error code i got says:

17563 manifold pressure sensor G71 short to B+ P1155 - 35-10- intermittent

 

cars been sat in my drive way for a month now n its bout time i got it sorted!
