hi

thinking of buying this intercooler has any one bought one of theses and are they any good thanks mark

Cheap and you'll get a lot of heat soak. LazyLunitic used on on his MK3 1.8t and was loosing 10BHP per run on the dyno iirc.

would rapping the piping in heat resistant material help the heat soak issue??

looking for a good intercooler with 2.5 inch pipes but dont wont to have to pay like £400 for it can any body point me in the rite direction

2000 GTI 1.8t ARZ, S2000 filter, DSG intake, Forge 007 dv, Catch can, R-tech custom remap, 3" Supersize Silicone TIP, Powerflex dog bone, 'The Beast' FMIC, Ultimate delete, LCR fuel pump, 3" Turbo back, K03 hybrid, Ported Manifold, S3 injectors, 80mm maf = 280bhp 270lbft :evil:

wrapping the pipework before the intercooler would make it worse.
wrapping the pipework after would make a small difference to the intake temps by not allowing the heat from the engine bay to heat the intake air after it has left the intercooler but would not fix the problem.
