Yes, I've put down a refundable holding deposit while I check a few things out. But 99% going to buy it. Thanks for the help guys. For only a little more money that I was looking to spend on a mk5 I think this is a better long term bet in terms of both the car and future depreciation compared to the older model.

I'm sure your love it, just make once you've taken delivery get some protection on that paintwork and those shadows :wink:

Yes it will get sone protection. Since getting back into cars with my Corrado last year I've rediscovered proper washing and polishing and both my cars currently get two bucket lambswool mitt washed, followed by a layer of super resin polish and then regular autoglym hd wax. The 9 year old golf 4 mo that I'm trading in is in better condition than many of the 4 year old cars I've been viewing. I've been quite surprised how poor done of the cars have been and that many people don't try to look after what is a very expensive purchase.

Caring for the monzas does worry me slightly though because even with a lot of care the polished santa monicas on my 4mo have some corrosion on them.
