Mine has the same K&N type filter, as opposed to the Pipercross foam filter the Awesome one comes with...but apparently the Carbonspeed now comes with a Pipercross filter!

Also, mine had the carbon moulded mounting lugs as per the APR/Carbonio versions...some of the pics of the Carbonspeed housings show rivetted on steel lugs.

Very true...
Somebody will have done the initial R&D, then a factory in the far east will churn out the carbon for peanuts, with the end sellers putting their own couplers in the box, adding their choice of filter, putting stickers on, packaging them in fancy boxes and all claiming to have done their own R&D.
Eyes wide open  and all that.

But it is a nice piece of carbon moulding!

I read that there are more people annoyed about cleaning the std exhaust pipes...anyone figured out a cure yet (apart from buying Miltek)...

After two years it became near impossible to clean the "bottom part" of the exhaustpipes and when cleaned the chrome was gone there..

I clean mine weekly with a bit of Autosol, and then a bit of AG SRP which seems to help next time they are cleaned

Mine went the same way very early on - the bottom part became tarnished/black and would not clean up (I tried Autosol and steel wool, but as you say, the chrome was gone)...so I left them to get properly black on the inside, before going down the fully black route.
